Presentation by Michigan Peace Team member, Martha Larsen, at Everybody Reads

Martha Larsen will gave a first-hand account of her experiences as a peacemaker on her recent trip to Palestine and the West Bank

She is a native Montanan.  Beginning in 1981,  she spent almost 12 years in Peru among the Aymara people who live near Lake Titicaca in high Andes.  When she returned from Peru in the early 90s she went to the University of Toronto to earn her 2nd Master's Degree.  She then worked with Mexican immigrants in different parts of the USA - teaching ESL, preparing people for citizenship, and doing paralegal work.   For the last 2 years, Martha has worked with the Michigan Peace Team in Lansing, MI and with other peace groups in the area.   Last year she spent almost a month in Palestine and this year she was there for three months as part of a long-term peace team in the West Bank.
